The World Beyond Your Head (Crawford):
In 2022 I noticed that my life felt as though someone else were driving it. My outside environment appeared to be having its way with me. From the day to day of my business, and this feeling like I was on a hamster wheel of someone else’s making it was time to make a change beyond turning off my phone’s notifications. So I sold my business and bought a guitar. Call it a midlife crisis, but I felt a driving need to fill my head with purposeful information, not just what my environment was throwing at me. Suddenly overnight, on January 1st at midnight to be exact, I no longer had anything to do. The only thing I could muster was my weekly guitar lesson and diligent daily practice. For the first time in years I felt myself truly engaged in my days again. Allowing myself to choose my focus I found a piece of me I had long lost which reminded me that I am a person with tastes and preferences. Indeed you need to stand for something or fall for anything.
